Miss V Shores – Head of Academy (Macaulay Drive)
I started my journey with Springwell Alternative Academies at Grantham as an Assistant Principal – Teaching and Learning.
I spent that time year gaining invaluable insights into the unique challenges and opportunities within this sector. This also included gaining valuable insights into qualifications and curriculum from EYFS up to KS4. This experience provided a solid foundation in developing strong pastoral care, implementing bespoke learning plans, and fostering a supportive community for students.
I was then offered the opportunity to develop my career by taking on the Head of Academy role at Mablethorpe after just one year. In this role I am responsible for the strategic direction of the school, staff development, and academic excellence which puts pupils directly at the centre of everything we do. The school moves forward everyday with a mission to empower students to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.
Mr G Tucker – Head of Academy (Myles Cross)
George qualified as a primary teacher from University College Plymouth, St Mark & St John in 2010. Since then George has worked in all need special schools and SEMH provisions. During this time George has also gained a postgraduate certificate in teaching children on the autism spectrum from the University of Northampton.
George joined Springwell Alternative Academy Lincoln as Assistant Principal with responsibility for Teaching and Learning in January 2024, before moving to Springwell Alternative Academy Grantham as Head of Academy in October 2024. George has now returned to Lincoln as Head of Academy for the Myle Cross site.
George believes that all of the young people that are a part of the Springwell Lincolnshire community deserve to feel that they belong in an organisation that prepares them for the opportunity to take their place in society when they finish school.

Driven by a profound belief in the power of relational approaches to education, Emma became Director of Inclusion in 2023, where she managed an internal provision focused on student well-being and progress within a mainstream setting. In addition to this, and wanting to support diverse learners further, she qualified as a SENDCO in 2024 through Middlesex University.

Lauren completed a BA (Hons) in Primary Teaching and spent eight years teaching in a mainstream primary setting. During her time there, she was instrumental in leading both English and Assessment as part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), developing curriculum and practice across the school. Whilst in this role, she also covered the vital position of SENDCo, deepening her understanding of inclusive practice and the specific needs of pupils facing barriers to learning.
Having gained significant experience in both mainstream primary education and in supporting vulnerable learners, she made the move to Springwell to focus on supporting children with SEMH needs. By joining Springwell, she aims to bring her passion for inclusive education and knowledge of teaching and learning to a setting where she can directly support vulnerable pupils to overcome barriers to learning, and achieve their full potential.
